Frequently Asked Questions

When does the fall season start?

The first practice of the season starts on August 16th, 2025 and will run for 10 weeks.

What time are the practices?

Practices are on Saturday mornings from 8:30am-9:30am.

Where do you meet?

Most practices this fall are “cross-country” style and will take place at Lindberg Park on the corner of Rhoda Way and Cota St.

What will practice look like?

The goal of this run club is to expose your child to running in a way that is low pressure and hopefully fun! We will start with some dynamic stretches and warm ups and transition to a team-building running game. Our athletes will then also participate in a few discovery drills where they learn about different aspects of running/track. We will then do some running with the main focus on self-improvement and race preparation rather than competition. Finally, we will cool down while touching on a topic that is health and wellness focused such as nutrition, injury prevention and hydration.

What should we bring to practice?

Please make sure your child has comfortable close-toed running shoes (crocs are discouraged). We also recommend bringing sunscreen, a water bottle, and a quick/easy snack such as graham crackers or fruit. The grass is occasionally wet from the morning dew, so a dry change of socks/sneakers may make the ride home more comfortable as well!

Is this a competitive team?

Our mission at Culver Kids Run Club is to introduce our young athletes to the sport of running in a way that encourages pride, team-building and personal improvement. While competition is not a center point in our philosophy, there are opportunities to experience a racing experience. For example, this season we will have time trials, where we simulate a cross-country race at Lindberg Park. We also will be participating in the Malibu Moves Kids Run at the end of the season on October 25th, 2025.

Can my athlete start mid-season?

YES of course! Email culverkidsrunclub@gmail.com for more info!
